Even two medieval fortresses rise above Zalaszántó: the fortress of Rezi and Tatika. 3. The nature lovers find some hiking trails and bicycle paths around the village.
* This small town is in the middle of a tourist area, all attractions are around. To North : Sümeg (huge medieval fortress - 13 km). To East : National Park of Upper Balaton, Tapolca (cave - 19 km). To South-East : Szigliget (fortress with wonderful view to Balaton Lake - 24 km) and Badacsony (volcanic table hill with its vineyards - 27 km). To South : Keszthely (the biggest city of the region at the edge of Balaton with its beautiful baroque castle - 17 km), Gyenesdias (the best beach of the Balaton lake - 19 km). To South -West : Hévíz (the unique hot thermal lake - 13 km), Kehidakustány (water park with 13 pools, including thermal water - 20 km). To North-West : Zalaszentgrót (thermal bath - 24 km). And even more : Zalacsány (24 km) with wellness castle and a fishing lake with a picnic area, Zalaköveskút (17 km) with an animal park, Rezi (8 km) with an adventure park (canopy, etc.) and many more...
* The region welcomes many foreign tourists who often decide to settle themselves, especially Germans, Austrians, Russians, English, Dutch and Belgians, but also French, Saudis and Brasilians or even others.
