For Sarah J. Robbins he designed 33 East 74th Street in 1901, in a neo-Georgian style. She was the grand-daughter of Hugh Judge Jewett, president of the Erie Railroad.
This mansion has been specifically cited as one of Grosvenor Atterbury's most elegant early Twentieth Century designs. Today, the mansion has been used most recently by The Whitney Museum for offices, but the scale and grandeur of the original rooms still remain, with many original period details intact. The six levels of the mansion comprise approximately 15,468 square feet of luxurious residential space which includes an above grade lower level with light on two sides and a service entrance back to East 74th Street. There is an elegant 33 foot-long terrace on the fifth floor with views of Central Park.
