Car hire is recommended, although regular bus services operate to Dobrich and Balchik.
Gurkovo is located approximately 11 km from the historic fishing and beach resort town of Balchik, 22 km from the holiday resort at Kavarna, and 38 km from the large provincial town of Dobrich. The international resorts of Albena and Golden Sands and the cosmopolitan city of Varna are all within 30 minutes drive.
