Casa da Confraria — which means “house for the brotherhood of monks” — is a five-minute walk from Sintra’s city center, which has shopping and dining options, as well as museums and palaces (Sintra is a Unesco World Heritage site). Once a dormitory for monks, the hillside property consists of two houses joined by a shared door; it overlooks the surrounding countryside and has a distant view of the coastline. The 186-square-meter (2,000-square-foot) main house has a kitchen with a fireplace, a formal dining room, a sitting room and a wine cellar on the main floor. Upstairs it has a library, the main sitting room, a bathroom and a bedroom with dressing room. On the attic floor are two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite), and a third sitting room.
