The imposing sixteenth-century palazzos along Via Garibaldi, the former Civic Theatre built at the behest of Sir Thomas Hanbury, which houses the Aprosiana Library, the loggia of the Parliament in the ProvenASSal style, the oratory of the Neri, complete a visit to the medieval town.
Among events held in Ventimiglia are the famous Battle of flowers, Medieval August accompanied by drummers and standard bearers, and the big Friday market, which is popular with French and other tourists.
