ECUADOR.... the name may not not invoke many thoughts of idyllic settings, natural wonders, gorgeous terrain, nor needed to travel or vacation spot ..... however, that and more are here, and in the last few years, Ecuador has been "discovered" by many travelers. They came for either the adventure, or looking for a more exotic locale to mountain climb, surf, dive, fish, hike, enjoy the Amazon region, the Galapagos, the volcanos or Pacific coast line and some decided to stay. That was me a few years ago when I found my piece of paradise here in Ecuador. I came for the adventure and seeking a place to retire to where I could live with less stress and less money than I was able to do back in the USA. A more carefree lifestyle where my retirement dollar would go further.
Below is a description of what I decided to do with my little discovery and piece of paradise... I hope you find it interesting and if you do become interested in seeing if Ecuador fits you, I have come up with a short questionaire to see if buying property and living permanently or part time might be right for you. My development sits right along the Ruta del Spondylus (think Pacific Coast Highway) in Ecuador in a pristine area along the village of Tasaste (with all of its 350 inhabitants) right at the Pacific Ocean and home to the Arco de Lamore (arch of love), used by the Jama-Coaque hundreds of years ago. Our security gates sit a mere 600 meters from the waters edge and our elevations give us not only amazing views of the vast Pacific Ocean with the mountain views behind us ... but also the cooling Pacific breezes most of the year. Our temperatures vary by about 15 degrees all year since we sit so close to the Equator ... our actual address is 00.06 degrees south latitude.
Vista Pacifica began as a dream to build my own home and have a large piece of property to call my back yard ... but my developing experience back in the states along with so many people loving the pictures and the descriptions wanting a piece made it an easy choice to start a development. After doing my research and seeing what was done in the way of developing here, I decided to make Vista Pacifica a very different type of development here in Ecuador. I started out by laying out large estate sized lots to take advantage of the amazing views (most lots are quite small in developments that offer amazing views of anything). My thoughts were different ... have a development that offered large lots for nice sized homes along with plenty of space to stretch out and people from different parts of the world just might like it. Kind of like the "build it and they will come" scenario. Hence ... Vista Pacifica was born.
Now I am proud to say we have a fully approved development, along with private roads, security gates, guard house, sales office, storage facility, sub-terranean electricity, private water storage and delivery system, land-scaped green areas, new condos that have been built (more starting soon), and more amenities planned for the future.
