Location:
Our house is situated in the province of Tarragona in Spain with nearest major town being Tortosa. The property lies at the end of a dry river bed and offers seclusion with the house sat within 4 hectares of olive groves. The property has no neighbours apart from an abundance of wildlife. Although the house offers seclusion it is only 8 minutes drive to Tortosa and 15 minutes drive to the coastal fishing village of L'Ampolla and several beaches. The main motorway and rail links can be reached within 5 minutes putting Barcelona and Valencia within a few hours travelling. Reus Airport is 40 minutes drive away.
Our House:
Originally an old olive mill used in the civil war to produce oil for the black market. The house has 2 double bedrooms a kitchen a bathroom and a large lounge/dining room (65m2) We have kept the original mill wheel in the lounge which is a great centrepiece.
Both bedrooms are upstairs and hold a double bed. The master bedroom is a mezzanine and is above the dining area. This could be enclosed for little cost. The second bedroom is a little smaller and has French doors leading out to an outside patio with raised views of the surrounding countryside. Downstairs the kitchen is modern but still remains rustic with cooker marble worktops and an electric fridge freezer. The Bathroom has a full size bath and a shower/wet area toilet and b day.
Outside:
Our house is set in over 5 hectares of land laid mainly to Olive trees (410) but we do have Almond Carob Fig and Pomegranate trees scattered around. There is a swimming pool size approx 7m x 3m with a fully functional filtration system. We have several outside patio/paved areas for outside living and a hammock area. The area around the house is fenced so is ideal for dogs. We keep 3 horses so we have an area for them which has electric fencing and 2 shelters with a tack room. outside the front of the house are planters with mature plants and a small herb garden.
We also have a ruin next to the main house of around 50m2. This could be converted to provide extra accommodation in the form of 2 good sized on suite bedrooms or a self contained apartment for guests or rentals. We have a written quotation to convert the ruin into an extra 2 bedrooms for €10,000. We also have a cave in between the ruin and the and the house which would make a great kids adventure bedroom.
Extras:
Our house is solely run by solar electricity via solar panels and a wind turbine that stores energy into batteries. We have a 6kw generator as a back up.
Water is by cisterna and this holds 35,000 litres
We have Broadband internet 25mb and TV that comes via satellite.
Our house will come with all the furniture included and we are also including in the sale a fully legal Spanish registered Jeep Cherokee 4x4
