Total build size is 250 m2 with 3 terraces, Garden & land of no less than 80,000 m2. This is the perfect set up for 2 families, home and rentals, B&B and activity holidays.
Access is by a short well maintained track 3.3km from the traditional white mountain village of Colmenar in the Montes de Malaga. Colmenar has shops, schools, medical centre, a weekly market, banks, bars and restaurants.
Antequera is approximately 30 minutes away, Malaga, the coast (30 minutes) and airport(40 minutes), Granada airport 90 minutes, the city and the Sierra Nevada mountains and ski resort about 2 hours. Seville and Cordoba are about 2.5 hours away.
You can have it all. This is peaceful, rural, beautiful and traditional yet only a short car journey will take you to magnificent cities.
House 1. The cortijo was built on the mountainside and this is upstairs/downstairs upside casita, with an upstairs salon and shower room and large terrace overlooks the valley and mountains beyond, it has a rustic shade area. Downstairs is the kitchen dining room - leading on to the dining terrace, three double bedrooms and a second shower room.
French doors from the top terrace lead into the large salon with the traditional high ceiling and two ceiling fans. There is a wood burning stove and large window overlooking the valley and mountains. A beautiful , large light room.
Off this is a shower room with a large tiled walk-in shower, basin, bidet and toilet. There is a light and mirror over the basin and an electric shaver point, an electric towel rail and two windows overlook the valley.
The lower terrace is the dining terrace with views across the valley and a rustic shade area. From this terrace doors open into the dining/kitchen. The kitchen/dining room has a wood burning stove. The floor is tiled throughout and the kitchen has a range of cupboards, gas cooker, fridge etc. and the back window looks out onto a mature plum tree and the valley beyond.
Downstairs bedroom 1 has a traditional small shuttered window and a curtained wardrobe.
Bedroom 2 has a traditional high beamed ceiling. There is curtained wardrobe and small window with traditional shutters.
Bedroom 3 The blocked-up doorway shows the thickness of the old walls. Traditionally there were no corridors in Spanish houses, one room opened into another.
The tiled shower room has a large walk-in shower, basin (with mirror and light over), toilet and bidet. There are large built in cupboards and a shaver point, an electric towel heater.
House 2 is of two stories. It was the stables and when visited originally housed goats and chickens!
The terrace has views over the valley and a shade area. From the terrace you walk into the kitchen/ dining room.
The owner describes this casita as "wonky" but I prefer "higgeldy piggeldy! With uneven walks and stairs, it's full of character and rental guests have loved its quaint traditional charm.
The kitchen/dining room was the mule stable. The ceiling is a traditional high beamed one with a ceiling fan. A wooden door opens onto the terrace.
The salon has a wood burning stove, a large picture window overlooking the mountains and valley and a satellite TV point. The casita is tiled throughout.
Bedroom 1.The ceiling is a traditional high sloping one and the little shuttered window opens onto the terrace.
Bedroom 2 upstairs in the old hayloft. The small traditional wooden window is shuttered.
The shower room is a large room with a tiled shower, basin, bidet and toilet. There is an electric towel heater, mirror and light over the basin and shaver point. The small shuttered window looks over the valley behind.
At the side of the casita is a utility room with a washing machine and large store cupboards.
On site are vines, olive trees, almonds, apples, oranges, a plum and a pomegranate.
Potential - Apart from the business potential already mentioned you could create a veg garden and orchard, keep chickens, goats or even pigs! Currently both houses are let as holiday homes in the summer months and are virtually fully booked May to Sept.
This is a lovely traditional mountain farmhouse - full of character yet very well equipped for a super holiday for family and friends. It is in an outstanding peaceful area where the locals still walk the goats and ride mules. Enjoy all this with beaches and cities so close.
