the apartment, which is very luminous, is situated in the medieval centre of the town at the crossroad of piazza matteotti (on the west side) and via valle dell’oro (on the east side) and it is right above via degli archi, a picturesque street of the town centre. the apartment is in a building of considerable historical value which dates back to the 15th century and which is better known as palazzo spagnoli from the name of one of the powerful families who occupied it in ancient times. the palace entrance is enriched with a “profferlo”- style staircase: a typical architectural feature of northern lazio. an interesting anecdote regarding the history of the palace is that the queen margherita of savoia stopped there the night of the 13th of march, 1903.
the house, which is not far from the main services of the town, is also near the church of san giovanni (50 m), which is famous for the holy friday procession, and near to the town hall (where there is also a parking area) and to the church of santi martiri, the saint patrons of tuscania (250m).
