The town of Alvor is excellently placed being built on a hillside leading down to the protected harbor on the estuary of the Ria Alvor, the town quay has been modernised over the last decade or so and now has a beautiful promenade with modern waterside bars were you can enjoy a coffee, beer, sangria or even a full meal overlooking the many local boats and even more visitors yachts swaying at anchor.
