Kedarnath is a holy town situated in the Rudraprayag Dustrict in the state of Uttarakhand. It is one of the highest chardham which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Kedarnath Shrine is one of the 12th jyotirling of Lord Shiva. It is situated at distance of 18 km from Gaurikund with at an elevation of 3584 mts above the sea level near the Chorabari Glacier. Gaurikund is the starting point of trekking to reach Kedarnath. The town kedarnath is lies on the bank of Mandakini River and increase the charm of the place. It is one of the most popular destinations of all hindu pilgrims. Every Year thousands of the devotees took part in the yatra from all around the country and the other different parts of the world. Majestic snow capped peaks surrounded the Kedarnath. Throughout the year the temperature of the place is chilly and cool. Don’t forget to carry heavy woolen clothes during the yatra. Every year the temple opens on the last week of april or the first week of May and close after two days of diwali on the day of Bhai Duj.
